The First of Many Sketches...
I am back! Maybe, I think! Because you see, I'm busier than ever.
I've taken on a new responsibility! I have accepted a teaching position at St. Aidan's Christian School at the Calvary Temple School Campus, teaching two days per week, (above the weekly Wed. morning art class at St. Aidan's North end school) "artistically interested/gifted" grade 9 - 12 home-school students.
This art class is intended to help them grow and develop in their art. The class course will include art instruction, tours of art galleries plus a studio day once/week during which students plan and prepare art for two art shows per year. One coming up on this December 17 and the other at the end of the school year.
I know, I'm a sucker for punishment. What with running my own business, my own personal art, church and family, which now includes three amazing grandchildren, am I not busy enough? Apparently not! Crazy eh?
But this is so invigorating and satisfying. Teaching a group of eager students things I wish I'd known when I was their age. Seeing their enthusiasm and growth is amazing. It's a class any art teacher would kill for! Just imagine it, every student ready and eager to learn, accept new challenges and growing in their art. It's fantastic. I feel so fortunate and humbled to receive such a gift.

"Sometimes we let life guide us, and other times
we take life by the horns. But one thing is for sure:
no matter how organized we are, or how well we plan,
we can always expect the unexpected."
